Choosing A Website Design

by | Jan 19, 2023 | Random

The mechanics of creating a website are not particularly difficult.

With WordPress and a good host, you can be up and running in as little as 20 minutes.

The two things that take forever are the content (of course), and choosing the right theme.

I’m guessing that I’ve spent almost as much time looking at, considering, and mulling over WordPress themes as I have pouring over cinnamon rolls recipes.

Both highly enjoyable activities.  Unfortunately, it turns out that looking and learning are not quite the same as doing.

Knowledge does not equal action.

I would wager that trying different themes (or different recipes) would give you a much better take on which one works best.  And unlike sampling lots of cinnamon rolls (never a bad thing), trying out different WordPress themes doesn’t add to your waistline.

I was particularly impressed with myself this time.  I actually chose the theme for this website in a single, one-hour lunch break session, made a note of it, and got back to work on a client project with a looming deadline.

Once the client project was delivered, I went back to my notes, and discovered, much to my delight, that I still liked my choice of theme.

This particular theme also met my other criteria for choosing a theme.  It was clearly a winner.

So, without further ado, I present to you my top criteria for choosing a theme for your WordPress site.
